The proposed new M&S Foodhall at Queens Drive Retail Park would safeguard 71 local jobs, help retain M&S in Kilmarnock after the closure of the current King Street store in 2027, and bring a significantly expanded food offer to one of the town’s established retail locations. The plans represent a major investment in Kilmarnock and secures the long-term future of M&S in East Ayrshire.
We have submitted a planning application (Application reference: 25/0567/PP) to East Ayrshire Council, who will decide whether the new M&S store will be delivered.

In-store Click & Collect for easy collection of online fashion, home and beauty orders, helping customers shop their way.
Supporting 71 local jobs and supporting local food production through partnerships with 32 Select Farms across East Ayrshire.

A Better M&S Food Experience
Located within one of Kilmarnock's established retail destinations, the proposed new M&S Foodhall at Queens Drive Retail Park would provide customers with convenient access to the full M&S Food offer in a modern, fresh market-style environment.
At approximately 14,680 sq ft, the new store would be more than double the size of the current Foodhall, creating space for a significantly broader range of products and a more enjoyable shopping experience.
Customers would be able to shop the full range of more than 6,600 M&S Food products, including fresh produce from M&S Select Farms, an in-store bakery, everyday essentials and customer favourites such as Nutrient Dense, Plant Kitchen, Eat Well, Remarksable Value and Only... Ingredients. The new store would also offer convenient Click & Collect services for fashion, home and beauty purchases, bringing a wider M&S offer to Kilmarnock.
Long-term Investment in Kilmarnock
If approved, the new M&S Foodhall at Queens Drive Retail Park would represent a significant investment of £4.5million in Kilmarnock and help secure the retailer's future in the town after the lease at the King Street store expires in 2027. The proposal will safeguard the 71 existing jobs and ensure Kilmarnock retains a M&S Food shopping experience.
